About Mike

Personal facts:

  • Born June 25th, 1976 in Santa Monica, California at Saint Johns Medical Center to Marvin & Stephanie Waldron.
  • My maternal Grandmother is Phyllis Diller.
  • Raised in the West San Fernando Valley, Canoga Park to be exact.
  • I graduated Canoga Park High School in 1994, and received an Associates Degree in IT from Phillips College (now defunct) in 1996.
  • My first job was at Miller’s Outpost (later renamed Anchor Blue), second at Baskin Robbins scooping ice cream, the third, assistant manager at a video store.
  • I’m single currently.  I have had three 2+ year relationships in my life.
  • I’ve lived for two years in Connecticut, from 1999-2001.
  • I currently reside in Woodland Hills, CA - I bought a condo in 2006 (dumb).
  • My hobbies include tennis, photography, politics, cars and nerdy crap.
  • I’m a Democrat who supports Barack Obama and Democratic causes.  I’m a political junkie!
  • I spend too much money and never save enough.  But my credit rating rocks.  I’m generous to a fault too.
  • I have always been into music.  I studied the drums and took lessons for 6 years when I was a kid.
  • Even at a very young age, I was heavily into computers and technology, doing advanced BASIC programming on my Commodore 64.  When I was 11 to 14 years of age, I ran a 2-line telephone bulletin board which had an e-mail connection to what was the precursor to the public Internet.  My friends thought I was crazy, at least until I started making a shitload of money right out of high school.
  • I like to get my “buzz” on.

Business/Work facts:

  • I’m a Windows-network and all-around technology expert.  There’s very little about Windows operating systems that I don’t know how to repair, fix, integrate, etc.  I’ve erected and/or maintained hundreds of separate networks in my 14 years doing IT.
  • I currently work full-time at stock broker/dealer as their Director of Technology (fancy title for the firms “computer guy”).  I was their consultant since the businesses started, way back in 1996.  In 2006 they got big enough to necessitate hiring me full-time.  It’s a great job!
  • I started my first business doing computer consulting when I was 20 - Waldron Consulting.  The business was sold to Lead-in Technologies when I move to the East Coast.
  • I moved to Connecticut in 1999 and worked at several firms under contract including GE Supply (General Electric), Inter-tel, and Wentworth Labs.  I also founded a consultancy and ISP with Yaron Baitch, who I met while working at GE.
  • From 2001-2003 I worked at Bank Card USA, a merchant services company as the Director of Technology.
  • In 2003, I left my full-time job at Bank Card USA to start my third consulting firm, Waldron Digital.   DragonFly Technologies and Willie Cumming took over my business when I got hired at Shoreline in 2006.
  • I still maintain a small list of side-clients, my two biggest being BetterGrow Hydro, Inc. and Axco Adhesive Systems.
  • I’ve recently become a huge Apple/Macintosh fan however was a huge hater beforehand.  I have built 3 Hackintoshes based on Dells, and clones.  I own a Macbook too.  Apple stuff is so cool, I’m a freakin’ fan boi now.
